New Horizon Academy Des Moines is conveniently located in Des Moines, Iowa off Martin Luther King Jr Parkway and SW 9th Street in downtown Des Moines. We have been serving families in the Des Moines metro area with quality childcare and early education services since 2018. Our school offers early learning programs for infants, toddlers, and preschool and pre-kindergarten children. At our downtown Des Moines childcare, we use a comprehensive curriculum that includes character development, STEAM, literacy, motor skills, and more, all with an emphasis on building confident and excited learners. I live in Elk River with my fiancé, Dave, and son, Jack. We go up to our cabin on Mille Lacs Lake every weekend. We love to go boating, fishing, and hang out at the cabin. When we are not up north, I enjoy cooking and spending time with friends.

My name is Lexi, and I am the assistant director of our Corcoran location. I have the privilege of not only being a part of our Corcoran school family, but also being a parent whose child attends this school. Previously, I was an infant teacher at one of our surrounding schools for 5 years before going on to attain my degree in Early Childhood Education. This spring I had the opportunity to help open up our Corcoran location and truly have loved every minute of this new journey.

Yes! At New Horizon Academy Des Moines, we have an on-site cook trained in nutrition, USDA guidelines, and proper portions for young children. Our school provides nutritious and nourishing meals every day including breakfast, lunch, and snack. All meals are included in the cost of tuition.
If your child has a special nutritional need, a food allergy, or requires adaptation to our menu, please alert our school director, and we will partner with your family to create a suitable meal plan.
Our downtown Des Moines school offers both full-time and part-time schedules to accommodate the different needs of our families.
